2. First-party and third-party cookies

• First-party cookies are set by Swearl and are readable only by our own site.

3. How long cookies last

• Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. Where we set persistent cookies, they typically expire within 12 months.

4. Cookie categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to work. They support core functions such as page routing, load balancing, security and fraud prevention, remembering your cookie choices, and keeping you signed in where an account exists. These cannot be switched off through our site because the service would not function without them.

Functional / preference

Remember choices you make so the experience is consistent — for example your language, region, playback or interface preferences, and whether you have already dismissed a banner or notice. If you block these, some conveniences stop working but the site remains usable.

Analytics / performance

Help us understand how visitors find and use the site — which pages are viewed, which links are clicked, how long pages take to load, and where errors occur. This information is used in aggregate to improve content and performance. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Marketing / advertising

Used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and, where applicable, to show relevant Swearl content on other platforms.
